Programs and Services
Homework Club (upon teacher recommendation only): This club provides academic support for students after school twice a week in partnership with Fairfax High school students.
Individual Tutoring program- We do our best to find a tutor from a local high school to work with your child after school for service hours. We also provide information about certified tutors in the area.
Internet Café - Cristina Del Campo is offering assistance with computer use. If you are interested, call Cristina at 703-279-8441, or e-mail her at [email protected] to make an appointment. You can also come and use the computer anytime if you do not have internet access at home--no appointment necessary.
Parent Workshops - Interest and need-based workshops are held at Daniels Run. This includes talks let by staff members, the principal, or an outside speaker. This year we taught parents how to best utilize their parent-teacher conference time, and most recently brought in Mario Prada from Fairfax County to talk about positive parenting with our Spanish-speaking families.
Parent Learning Communities - If you have concerns and are looking to discuss them with other parents, inquire about our Parent Learning Communities. When several parents express a topic of interest (i.e. behavior of 4th grade boys, homework habits, ADHD, etc.) and are looking to discuss ideas with other parents, the FRC will schedule a session in the evening for these parents to meet, talk and share ideas. Please submit ideas to Richelle Brown at [email protected] or call 703-279-8441.
